So I made a decision to experiment and lowered the saddles on my 3 street bikes about 5 mm. Quick ahead 4 weeks. My climbing has sucked ever since I moved my saddles decrease. At first I believed it was only a matter of getting used to the brand new top, however now I do not assume so. Even worse, my left knee began aching about 2 weeks in the past. I initially blamed it on driving my single-speed one morning when the temps have been relatively cool and never warming up sufficient earlier than pushing it on the hills. This weekend, I had a “duh second” and at last realized that my knee began hurting after I had lowered my saddle.
So, I ask the jury, does it matter if my hips rock after I pedal? If that’s the case, then why is my climbing higher with a better saddle? Is it only a coincidence that my knee began hurting or did the decrease saddle trigger the issue?
