Our visitor on Episode 51 of the Rider Journal Insider Podcast is Forrest Hobbs, who took a “purist” method to finishing the TransAmerica Path. Hobbs lives in Denver, Colorado, and he purchased a 1,200cc Yamaha Tremendous Ténéré journey bike, rode it 2,000 miles to Nags Head, North Carolina, rode the complete 6,200 miles of Sam Correro’s TransAmerica Path, added a pair thousand miles alongside the best way to go to family and friends, after which rode from Port Ord, Oregon, again residence. Over 73 days, he logged over 12,000 miles. Hobbs used solely roll charts for navigation and didn’t actually have a GPS as a backup, and he camped on the path almost each night time.
