Bandit Rider: Shed time

[ad_1]

Yeah, I do know, I have been lazy with my posting.  Perhaps after I get this wee one executed…

Yesterday was upkeep/farkle time for the T7.  I began off by completely spoiling the bike by cleansing it (leaving clumps of mud all over the place stated washing happened) after which swapping out the oil and filter.  Straightforward stuff.

Subsequent up was a wee improve.  Glen (and fairly just a few guys) had not too long ago upped his entrance sprocket by a tooth to drop the rpms a tad when cruising.  He reported that the bike was nonetheless nice with the marginally increased gearing and after using with him just a few weekends in the past I made a decision to offer it a whirl too.

I new that it would be attention-grabbing getting the sprocket nut off after altering one on the WR and needing to borrow an impression driver.  This time round I needed to borrow a 30mm socket from Ken who lives simply up the street.  I then proceeded to attempt to loosen the nut myself.

Yeah, that wasn’t going to work.  I could not maintain sufficient rear brake on and lean exhausting on the bar to loosen the nut.  Utilizing a tie down to carry the brake on did not work both – I did not have sufficient weight on the bike and the brake wasn’t on sufficient to cease the wheel from turning.  Fortunately Ken was simply up the street…

With Ken holding the bike and standing on the brake I used to be nonetheless not getting anyplace.  Time to get severe…

Yeah, it is practically so long as the bike…

Finally, the tremendous bar extension lastly cracked the nut and we have been in enterprise.

Out with the previous and in with the brand new.

A little bit of loctite and a few peening on the nut dohickey and hopefully it isn’t going anyplace.  Then the whole lot was again collectively and the chain adjusted to go well with,

For the oil change I needed to take away the usual skid pad however could not discover it in me to stay the identical one again on so slapped on a brand new plastic Acerbis one.

It is fairly a bit larger and provides a bit extra safety to  among the crucial fine details and is designed to attempt to assist hold crap off the shock which may injury that too.  Appears to be like good too – Colin and Andy by no means observed it immediately…
