Simply a few small modifications to the min-lathe to document on this put up.
First up, a brand new chip guard created from a 2 mm sheet of perspex, mounted on a metal arm with a robust magnet to take a seat on high of the lathe:
Secondly, I’ve modified the sleeve nuts used to retain the splash again – these now comprise a 20 mm house and a shorter sleeve nut; the splashback now sits 20 mm additional again and is not mounted on to the mattress. Which means that:
- chips might be pushed into the tray from the splashback and faraway from the entrance
- the cross slide goes to the tip of it is journey with out hitting the splashback first.
